SS-GB is an amazing book it literally astonished me how well written it is. Ss/gb book doesn't just allow you see what life is like it allows you to see the restrictions and curfews posed on the British when the Nazi's took over.

Len Deighton was born in Marylebone in London on 18 Februaryin a workhouse. In Anthony Master's book Literary Agents he writes that Deighton's interest in spy stories may have been partially inspired by the arrest of Anna Wolkoff, which he witnessed as an year-old boy.
